The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Joash Amupitan says the strength of democracy often shapes the stability of the nation.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies, Amupitan said electoral integrity remains central to peace, stability and national security.
He described the theme of the association’s forthcoming annual lecture, “Credible Election and National Security in Nigeria,” as timely, stressing that transparent and secure elections require strong collaboration among security agencies, policymakers and other stakeholders.
