FRSC Anambra Sector Command Inaugurates 130 Special Marshals

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State Sector Command, has inaugurated one hundred and thirty Special Marshals made up of men and women in Awka.

Speaking during the exercise at the Command’s State Headquarters, Awka, the Anambra State Sector Commander, Bridget Asekhauno, who said they must be fair, firm, and friendly, noted that she was delighted to welcome them, as their recruitment into the sector as volunteers is in line with their determination and significant milestones to make Anambra roads safer.

The Sector Commander revealed that the Special Marshals is the biggest volunteer force in Africa, as through the platform, patriotic citizens willing to use their time, energy, and resources to serve humanity are recruited into the corps, urging them to always be ambassadors of the Road Safety Corps by being patriotic and respecting other road users.

The Zonal Coordinator of the Special Marshals, Idolo Kennedy, represented by Mr. Patrick Esumia, called on them to use their new position to serve humanity and always obey all traffic signs, as they are men and women of proven integrity, advising them not to use their new positions to break laws or disrespect other road users.

Earlier, during his welcome address, the Anambra State Coordinator of Special Marshals, Ogbusa Michael Uzodimma, urged the new recruits to always prioritize safety, follow due process, and avoid taking the law into their hands, noting that their willingness to volunteer their time and energy to serve Anambra road users is highly commendable.

Decoration and oath of allegiance by the new marshals, among other activities, climaxed the event.
