Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Headquarters Awka has partnered with the Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency, ANSEWCCA, to disseminate information on erosion menace, its causes, and remedies.
The Managing Director of ABS, Mr Christopher Molokwu, announced the partnership when ANSEWCCA’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Philip Phil-Eze, paid him a courtesy visit, stating that most erosion sites are man-made, and highlighted the need for environmental education.
The MD/CEO of Anambra State Erosion Watershed and Climate Change Agency, Professor Phil-Eze revealed that the Governor has prioritized addressing erosion challenges, but funding constraints persist, noting that erosion control is capital-intensive.
Professor Phil-Eze appealed for community efforts towards check-mating the menace, citing instances where people threatened by erosion seek ANSEWCCA’s help.
