Umueri Welfare Association, Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area has upheld its leadership, spearheaded by Mr. Levi Elobisi.
A Town union meeting which was held to address a leadership issue that is truncating the peace of the community, was aimed at instilling peace among the Umueri Welfare Association and attracted chairmen from the nine kindreds in the community.
Speaking, the President General Umueri Welfare Association Mr, Levi Elobisi, said the crisis the past administration is causing in the Community is uncalled for, as they have ruled the Community for the past seventeen years, amounting to four tenure without any meaningful development.
Mr. Elobisi noted that his administration which is now about a year old has not received any account of stewardship from the past administration, pointing out that their short stay in office has produced a Town Hall that can accommodate the community for meetings, generate revenue for the Town, toilet facilities and a residential apartment for their community, among others.
Also speaking, Uzo Onyekwuluje,who is from the troubled Community, condemned totally the attitude of his brothers, saying that they have been in power for many years and the new administration is not worried about giving the account of their stewardship, while Evangelist Ifeanyi Ekpokoba expressed dismay at the attitude and why the past administration had been in power for seventeen years without any meaningful development, and still would not give the new administration the needed peace to pilot the affairs of Umueri Community Ogbunike.
