Soludo Signs 2026 Anambra State Appropriation Bill Into Law

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant milestone in the state’s fiscal planning and development agenda.

The signing ceremony was held at the Light House in Awka.

The 2026 Appropriation law increased from seven hundred and fifty-seven billion naira to seven hundred and sixty-six billion naira after rigourous work by the eighth Assembly, outlines the state’s budgetary framework aimed at driving economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs across Anambra.

Governor Soludo described the budget as “a strategic plan focused on delivering on his administration’s promises and prioritizing the critical needs of the people.

In addition to the appropriation law, the governor signed into law three other key legislations spanning various sectors, reinforcing the state’s commitment to good governance and sustainable development.

The other laws assented to include Anambra State Mission Schools of Nursing and Midwifery (Amendment no.3) law, 2025, Tax Clearance Certificate Law, 2025 and Anambra State Correctional Service Law, 2025.

Governor Soludo commended the Anambra State House of Assembly for their diligence and collaboration in passing these critical bills, noting that the legislative partnership is vital to the accelerated development and prosperity of the state.

He reaffirmed that his administration is committed to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance, pointing out that by enacting the laws, his government is creating the enabling environment for effective service delivery and growth in Anambra State.
