Nigerian Institution Of Estate Surveyors And Valuers Holds 2025 MCPD Seminar In Awka

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Anambra State, with the approval of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria, has held the 2025 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development, MCPD, seminar at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The seminar, with the theme “AI-Driven Estate Surveying and Evaluation: Securing the Future of Property Valuation in the Digital Age” and sub-themes “AI Integration and Innovation in Estate Surveying and Valuation”, and “Cyber Security and Data Protection”, was attended by members of the association in Anambra, other professionals, undergraduate students of the profession from various institutions of higher learning across the state and the academia, among others.

In a keynote address, the Head of Department, Estate Management, Professor Chinelo Igwe, said the seminar is a compulsory yearly programme for Estate Surveyors in every state of the federation to update them on essential knowledge, hence the training on Artificial Intelligence for estate surveying and evaluation. 

In a lead paper presentation titled “AI-Driven Estate Surveying and Evaluation: Securing the Future of Property Valuation in the Digital Age,” Dr. Chidubem Azie-Ekwunife from the Anambra State Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, Awka, addressed extensively the current state of estate surveying in Nigeria, AI integration and its role in enhancing valuation while preserving professional judgement, and cyber security risks associated with AI, while Raphael Sado from the Department of Estate Management, UNIZIK, Awka, and Sir Joseph Odo also spoke on “AI Integration and Innovation in estate surveying and valuation practice in Nigeria” and “Cybersecurity and Data Protection,” respectively.
