In its quest to reduce untimely deaths caused by avoidable health issues among youths, the National Youth Service Corps, Anambra State has organised a programme called Campus Health Connect themed “Awareness And Wellness Campaign and Outreach”.
The health sensitisation programme which is the brainchild and personal Community Development Service, of a Corps member, Mr Francis Henry was held in collaboration with Anambra Broadcasting Service, African Health Connect, Anambra Ministry of health, Meshi Unizik Chapter among others and took place at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, where students were given free medical treatments and health talks

Corper Henry who is a professional nurse in an interview , explained that the event which is his personal CDS and an avenue to launch his NGO, African Health Connect Initiative with the objective of bridging gaps and building health, cautioned students against self medication and patronising of quacks when they are faced with health problems and advised them to always visit the university’s medical centre to access medical check from qualified personnel.
During their presentations, a corp member and an optometrist, Dr Victoria Omoregie and another Corps member who is a dietician, Mr.Timileyin Adebowale told the beneficiaries of how best to take care of their health.
