World Children’s Day: UNICEF Repeats Call For Protection, Promotion Of Child’s Rights

Anambra children have  joined their counterparts to celebrate World Children’s day, which is a UNICEF global day of action to emphasize that Child’s rights are human rights, universally fundamental and non-negotiable.

This year’s celebration was commemorated with the theme  “My Day, My Rights” to emphasize the fundamental rights of children and the importance of empowering them to express their needs, options and aspirations.

Convening a special event to mark the day, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra  Broadcasting Service, ABS, Awka, Mr.Chris Molokwu, said that when the society protects the rights of children, they prepare them for a better and brighter future.

The Speaker, Anambra State Children’s Parliament, Right.Honourable Victory Ekwunife, emphasized the role of children in shaping their future, even as the UNICEF Desk Officer, Franca Madike of the ABS explained that children need to be nurtured well for them to blossom.
