The Archbishop, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, and security agencies for conducting what he described as one of the most peaceful and credible elections in the state’s recent history.
Speaking in Awka, Archbishop Ibezim said the conduct of the election reflected a maturing democratic spirit among Anambra citizens, who he said demonstrated patience, discipline, and unity throughout the process.
He expressed gratitude to God for granting the state a violent-free exercise, noting that Anambra has once again proven to be a model for democratic engagement in Nigeria.
According to the Archbishop, the seamless coordination by INEC, the punctual arrival of election materials, and the professionalism displayed by security personnel helped to strengthen public confidence in the electoral system.
