Residents of Idemili South Local Government Area have come together in a significant show of solidarity to mobilize support for the candidacy of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim ahead of the November eight Anambra governorship election.
Speaking during a rally held at the local government headquarters,Governor Soludo appreciated the people for organising the rally at their own expense, emphasizing that it is for the common people that he keeps awake every night, trying to build a new society where Anambra children can live, calling on the people to come out en masse and vote on November, eight.
Some of the people, including, Mayor, Idemili South local government area, Mrs Amaka Obi and Ikenna Iyiegbu in their separate speeches restated the importance of unity and collective action, assuring that they will do their best to ensure that every vote counts in the forthcoming election.
During the mobilization event which not only illustrated the strong grassroots backing for Soludo and Ibezim and served as a rallying point for citizens to come together to champion the ideals of good governance and sustainable development in the region, over thirty million naira was donated to the Governor as campaign support.
