Many people have benefited from free medical outreach organized for people of Igbariam by the Igbariam Youth Development Foundation, approved by the Anambra state Ministry of Health, supported by Igbariam Progressive Union , Anambra State Health Insurance Agency and Nigeria Red Cross Society.
The event featured health enlightenment session, free medical consultation, physical examination and basic body examination, free medication and enrollment of thirty beneficiaries into the State Health Insurance Scheme.

In his speech, the Director of Education and Research of the Foundation, Mr
Amakom Okoye said the medical intervention was to give people easy access to quality health services to reduce mortality and improve life expectancy while the Foundation is equally working towards sustaining the outreach every three months to give more people opportunity to benefit and will also intervene in other areas.

In a health enlightenment session, a medical practitioner, Dr Chieze Collins cautioned against consumption of raw salt, red meat and excess sugar and stressed the need for regular health checks and healthy lifestyle while Mr Izuchukwu Ogbaji from the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency explained that enrollment into the scheme will enable beneficiaries access quality health services without financial burden.
