Tiger Premium Beer, a product of Nigerian Breweries Plc, has hosted a Street Football Talent Hunt among youths in Anambra State. The exciting event, held at Okpuno, Awka, brought together young football enthusiasts in a thrilling display of skill, teamwork, and passion.
The competition featured top-performing teams including Peace Ambassador, Sunday Spacks, Peace Dominion, and Peace Warriors. After a series of competitive matches, Peace Warriors emerged as champions in the grand finale, defeating Peace Dominion with a commanding 4–1 victory.

Speaking to journalists, Maria Shadeko, Managing Director of Tiger Premium Beer (Nigerian Breweries Plc), described the initiative as a grassroots football tournament designed to engage and empower young Nigerians through sports.
She noted that Tiger Street Football is the brand’s very own event, a grassroots tournament created to discover talent, foster unity, and celebrate passion for the game, saying that the first-place winners will receive ₦5 million and a gold Tiger trophy, while the second and third runners-up will go home with ₦3 million and ₦1 million respectively.

She added that this marks Tiger Beer’s first-ever event in Awka, with plans underway to expand the competition to other states across Nigeria. She also emphasised on the Tiger Beer’s light taste and premium quality which is what made it one of the most sought-after international lager beers, with a strong presence in over 46 countries, particularly across Asia.
She further noted Tiger Beer’s global recognition and its partnership with Manchester United Football Club, emphasizing that the brand shares a strong connection with the youth because of the nation’s deep love for football.

Also speaking at the event, Mr Uzor Arukwe, a celebrated Nollywood actor and Tiger Beer brand ambassador, expressed his delight at the atmosphere and facilities at the venue.
Mr Arukwe said that Tiger Beer is engaging young people to unleash their potential and roar fearlessly like the tigers they truly are, saying that this finals in Awka will be remembered as one of the best.
Michael Dennis, captain of Peace Ambassador FC, which secured second place, praised the organizers for their generosity and commitment to youth development highlighting the importance as a platform that gives young people hope and proves that they can contribute positively to society.

A football lover at the event, Mr Ifeatu Achonam, expressed his excitement and pride in Peace Warriors’ performance stating his beliefs in the team’s success from the start. He noted that the team showed great skills and discipline throughout the competition.
