As part of efforts aimed at safeguarding the environment, Rotary Club of Awka Urban in collaboration with that of Awka metropolis and Orumba metropolis has planted fifteen economic trees at the corporate headquarters of the Anambra Broadcasting service, ABS, in Awka.
Speaking during the tree planting exercise, the leader of the delegation and Assistant Governor of Rotary International in charge of Zone 13, Reverend Sister Ives Mary Obi and the President of Rotary club of Awka Urban, Rotarian Casmir Obiakor said that the tree planting exercise is one of the seven focus areas of Rotary, designed to impact on the society through safeguarding and beautifying the environment and called on the beneficiaries to ensure that those economic trees are taking good care of.

The Managing Director of ABS, Mr Christopher Molokwu who thanked Rotary International for deeming it feat to plant economic trees in the establishment, said that there will be more collaborations between the state government owned media outfit and Rotary International especially in the areas of service to humanity.
