Anambra State Government, through he State Internal Revenue Service, AIRS, has arrested three illegal revenue collectors at Oye Uga, Aguata Local Goverment Area.
Parading the suspects in Awka, the Commander, Special Squad against illegal revenue collectors in AIRS, Mr. Nathan Obikwelu, said the suspects, two men and one female, Ikechukwu Dim, Adibe Kosarachi and Patrick Umeudu, were arrested while collecting illegal revenue from unsuspecting members of the public.
Mr. Obikwelu, who revealed that some of the suspects fled on sighting them, warned against illegal revenue collection in all parts of the state, stressing that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is totally against it.
He commended the Chairman of the agency, Dr. Greg Ezeilo, for the numerous reforms he has brought to the system, courtesy of the Governor.
