The fifth Combined Convocation Ceremony of Paul University Awka,was a moment of excitement for people from all walks of life as more than five hundred persons were awarded Post-Graduate Degrees, Honorary Doctorate Degrees, first Degrees and Diplomas in a wide range of disciplines.
According to Queen Anigbogu,the ceremony which featured installation of Chief Napoleon Onyechi as Chancellor the University, automatic employment of the Best Graduating Student,Miss Rosemary Okoroafor by the university, took place at Nwaoka Hall of the University, and had graduates, undergraduates, staff and management of the institution, families and friends in attendance.
In his message, the Proprietor of the university and Archbishop of Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim recounted how the university came into existence through a divine vision to raise a new generation of leaders who will combine academic excellence with moral rectitude and spiritual soundness.
Anambraa State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Education Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh,said that Paul University is rising just like Anambra is rising and that apart from his intervention in the erosion issues in the institution, his government will continue to support the university, even as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Obiora Nwosu pointed out that the present Paul University has been witnessing God’s immeasurable grace and mercy such that the citadel of learning is no longer and will never be associated with failure or stagnation.
