The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed a five-member committee to serve as the Chairman and Chief Executive Commissioner and Commissioners of the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Their confirmation followed a letter sent to the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, requesting the screening and confirmation of the nominees.
Those confirmed include Professor Frank Okafor as the Chairman/Chief Executive Commissioner, while Engineer Geoffrey Nwokoye, Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa, Engineer Nosike Emmanuel, and Barrister Chijioke Obi were confirmed as Commissioners.
Speaking after the confirmation, the Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, congratulated the newly confirmed members and urged them to discharge their duties diligently and in accordance with the law.
