Awka, Oba Communities Pledge To Strengthen Cooperation, Cultural Ties

Experience in leadership, they say, is not something one buys in the market but earns through wisdom and time.

Those were the words of the traditional ruler of Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area, Igwe Augustine Emelobe, when he paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, at his palace.

Speaking during the visit, Igwe Emelobe said his mission was to formally present himself as the new traditional ruler of Oba community to Obi Nwosu after receiving his certificate of recognition from the Anambra State Government and explained that it was important to build on the long-standing friendship and cultural ties that have united Oba and Awka for decades.

Responding, Obi Nwosu commended Igwe Emelobe for beginning his reign with humility and respect, describing the gesture as a mark of true leadership and character, saying that  the visit showed the Oba monarch’s desire for peace and collaboration, assuring that Awka community will continue to strengthen its cordial relationship with Oba for the progress and unity of both towns and Anambra State at large.
