Anambra Governorship Election: INEC Presents Upgraded Voters’ Register In Awka

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has presented the upgraded  Voters’ Register to political parties contesting in the November eight Anambra governorship election.

Making the presentation at INEC office in Awka, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Anambra State, Dr Queen Agwu disclosed that the Voters’ register will be used to conduct the November eight Anambra State governorship election, and the current number of registered voters in Anambra is two point eight million, saying that INEC has made all the necessary preparations for the conduct of a free, fair and credible polls.

On his part, the Director of ICT INEC Abuja, Dr Lawrence Bayode represented by Engineer Emeka Nnaji whose paper centred on “Technology Innovations for the conduct of 2025 Anambra State governorship election”, emphasized that the deployment of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System and IReV has advanced election transparency and credibility, successfully curbing voter fraud and impersonations.

In his reaction, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye commended the INEC for conducting election in every polling unit in Anambra South Senatorial District during Anambra by-election and expressed confidence that the commission will conduct a free, fair and credible election come November eight.
