Family and friends gathered to celebrate with the retired Deputy Controller General Correctional Services; Dr.Marylaurine Onyiorah at her country home, Uruofolo village, Nri, Anaocha Council Area during her ‘Iyom Nri’ title conferment ceremony.
Speaking after her conferment with the title name “Iyom Adadiorama”, Dr. Onyiorah expressed joy for the recognition, thanking God for her accomplishment in public service, and advised women to be steadfast in developing themselves.
An Nri title holder, Chief Clement Obiorah explained that the title is the peak of title and honour a woman can attain in the community, noting that Dr. Onyiorah deserves the title having contributed her quota towards the growth of the community.
Speaking during the event, the Controller of Correctional Service, Anambra State; Mr. Anselem Ike, the Anaocha APGA Chairman, Chief Anthony Ugorji and a chieftaincy title holder from Okija, Chief Uju Nwanolue noted that Dr. Onyiorah deserves the title, as she has empowered many people, among other social interventions.
