Traditional Ruler Of Mbaukwu Igwe  Anugwu Confers Chieftaincy Title Of “Ife Mbaukwu” On Anambra Deputy Governor Ibezim

Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has been conferred with the Chieftaincy title of “Ife Mbaukwu” by the Traditional Ruler of his community, Igwe Peter Anugwu, while the wife, Oluchi, was honoured as “Ugogbe Mbaukwu”.

Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that performing the ceremony at his Obu Akabueze Palace Mbaukwu, Igwe Anugwu described Dr Ibezim as a worthy son of the community whose commitment, humility and service have contributed to the development of the town and Anambra state at large.   

Speaking after receiving the Chieftaincy title, Dr Ibezim, who thanked Igwe Anugwu for being father to all in the community, noted that an honor to him is an honor to the state government under Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and promised to sustain the legacies for which he was honored. 

Describing the honor as well-deserved, some family members, dignitaries, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with Dr Ibezim, including the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, Dr Vepo Egbuna, Mr Kelvin Okonkwo, Professor Ebuka Nwankwo, and Barrister Chukwunonso Chukwudi, urged the Deputy Governor to keep the light shining.
