An Nkwelle Awka-born philanthropist, Dr Prosper Chukwuka, has received commendation for his tireless efforts to promote justice, mercy and rehabilitation of prison inmates in correctional facilities in the Southeast and South-South.
On a mission to decongest correctional facilities, Dr Chukwuka and his team, between August 26th to 3rd September 2025, secured the release of four inmates at Nnewi prison, eleven at Amawbia prison, three at Onitsha prison, all in Anambra State, and nine at Kwale prison in Delta State.

Appreciating Dr Chukwuka for his philanthropy, also evident in the remarks of Rev. Chukwudi Agonihu; father of one of the released victims, and officer in-charge of Kwale prison in Delta State, the Chief Executive Officer of Moving Train International Limited, Chief Emeka Enebeli, who said that the kind gesture embodies the philosophy that “Charity begins at home”, and that he looks forward to seeing the positive impact of his work continue to unfold, noted that the act also highlights Dr Chukwuka’s focus on supporting the freed prisoners beyond just their release.

To ensure that the released inmates are properly documented, Dr Chukwuka took the seven inmates released from Kwale prison to CPS Awka Anambra State for intake and registration.
