Laying of asphalt has been completed up to seventy percent on the nine point eight kilometres Nkwo Oraifite to Nkwo Nnewi road, popularly called Nkwo to Nkwo.
The asphalt which commenced from the Nnewi axis of the road, has been completed on both sides of the road up to Ifite Oraifite axis, while a portion of the road from Ifite-Oraifite has been asphalted, and laying of stone base ongoing on another portion of the road on the same Ifite-Oraifite axis.

Speaking on the development, some indigenes of Oraifite, including Messrs Michael Chukwueloka and Timothy Iloka, explained that they were happy when they saw heavy duty equipment on the road and when work commenced in earnest on the road which they said was in a very bad condition until Governor Soludo’s intervention .

The project manager, Engineer Fahd Alshekh who explained that they started work in February this year, said that they have completed one hundred percent drainage work on the road with maintenance of existing drainage channels has reached over eighty-five percent completed, promising to hand over the job by the end of the year.
