Focused on directing the path of young minds to positivity, the 4th education seminar IG Aguowo Health and Academic Foundation has held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; with students under the foundation’s scholarship drawn from different schools in attendance.
The Executive Director of the foundation, Gloria Abanihe, explained that the submit is a way of admonishing over 700 pupils and students under the foundation’s scholarship to focus on their studies, while those who perform expectationally well in their academics are rewarded.
The theme of the seminar was; “Harnessing The Power of Education and Building a Strong Moral Foundation”.
The Guest speaker, Associate Professor Chitom Akamelu, in her speech, enjoined young people to be focused and not be distracted in their studies and life goals, admonishing them to avoid hard drugs, stop spending much time on the internet, set goals for themselves, while imbibing the culture of self discipline.
Another speaker at the event, Pastor Uzo Ejikeme, cautioned against immorality; but rather a focus on making one’s family proud, not minding the challenges.
Mr. David Okolo; from Nwanonwaimo Memorial Secondary School, who got N500,000, and Miss Kosiso Ayogu; from Federal Science and Technical College, who also got same amount, expressed happiness for the recognition, and promised to always do better.
