Laying of first layer of asphalt is currently on going on the Amaenyi-Arroma-Ifite Awka road, as men of the construction firm handling the project were seen laying asphalt from the Ifite Awka end of the road towards Amaudo.
ABS gathered that the asphalt will be twelve millimetres on some portion and ten millimetres on other portions according to the job specifications, even as asphalt has been laid on the Mgbajiaka-High Tension axis of the road.

Speaking to the ABS, an Amudo Awka indigene, Mrs Louisa Alenagu and a road user, Miss Ogechukwu Ezeukwu said that the move is a welcome development, thanking God that the road is now motorable.
They expressed happiness that they no longer have to get to Arroma junction to connect with their neighbours, and maintained that with what Governor Soludo has done and is still doing, he has no rival in the November eight Anambra Governorship election. .
