Soludo’s Security Aide Emeakayi Urges Ndi Anambra To Sustain Ownership Of Security Architecture

The peaceful and violence-free conduct of the bye-elections in Anambra recently has been described as a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to a secured homeland.

Speaking during a post-election community security meeting of Anambra South Senatorial District in Awka, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, said that the security initiative in the state codenamed Operation Udo Ga-Achi is working, especially because of community involvement in crime fighting. 

He noted that ninety percent of communities in the seven local government areas where the bye-election was conducted recorded violence-free polls, except a major incident in Awa community, Orumba North Local Government Area, where two persons were kidnapped and one person sustained gunshot injury which happened after the election. .

Mr. Emekayi further explained that by engaging community leaders before, during and after the election, the state government has ensured a stronger local ownership of security, which complemented the work of security agencies and guaranteed peaceful outcomes.
