The Anambra State Government, in partnership with the Federal Government’s IFAD-Value Chain Development Programme, has commissioned and handed over newly built stalls and stores to members of Ezira Community Disability Cooperative Society in Orumba South Local Government Area.
Correspondent Chibuzor Obidike reports that the State Coordinator of IFAD/VCDP, Dr. Deborah Onyefulu, described the project as unique, noting that it is the first time the programme is prioritizing people living with disabilities, and called for stronger collaboration between the community, stakeholders, and the cooperative to ensure proper use and sustainability of the market.

President General of Ezira Community, Mr. Moses Akam, thanked the State Government and FG-IFAD/VCDP for the intervention, pledging the community’s commitment to partnering with the cooperative society in maintaining, securing, and fully utilizing the facility.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Florence Udo expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for his inclusive leadership and to FG-IFAD/VCDP for empowering them through ownership of the market.
