Kano State Govt To Convert 115 -Year Old Prison To Museum

The Kano State Government has unveiled plans to transform the one hundred and fifteen-year-old Kurmawa Maximum Security Prison into a museum to preserve the state’s colonial and cultural heritage.

Built in 1910 by the British colonial government within the precincts of the Kano Emir’s Palace, the prison was originally designed to house six hundred and ninety inmates.
