International Friendship Day:  Christian Council Of Nigeria Chairman Monanu Calls For Promotion Of Relationships

Yesterday was International Friendship Day, a day set aside by the United Nations General Assembly to strengthen friendship between people, countries and cultures should be s.

It was first proposed in July twentieth, 1958 by Dr Arternio Bracho during a dinner with friends in Puerto Pinasco, Paraguay.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration, the chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, South East zone, Dr Levi Monanu, described friendship as an oil that lubricates the world, especially when the friendship is true, frowning at friendships established to cheat people and deprive those opportunities, adding that no society can develop without friendship.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Accelerate Action”.
