Anambra State Government has arrested five illegal revenue collectors in Nkwelle-Ezunanka, Oyi Local Government Area.
Parading the suspects in Awka, the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service Commander of Operations against illegal revenue collections, Mr. Nathan Obikwelu explained that the suspects were arrested collecting money from motorists plying Enugwu-Onitsha expressway.
Mr. Obikwelu further stated that the suspects when approached, were parading a temporary private park permission given to them in 2023, which they are yet to satisfy its requirements but went ahead to start defrauding motorists and Ndi Anambra, saying that they will be charged to court immediately.
Two of the suspects, Mr. Chinedu Nnakwuzie and the other suspect who gave his name as Emmanuel, denied collecting revenue from anybody, rather were directing human and vehicular movements along the road.
