The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has charged Resident Electoral Commissioners across the country to intensify their efforts in ensuring credible and efficient electoral processes ahead of several key elections within the next year.
Speaking at the second quarterly consultative meeting with RECs in Abuja, Professor Yakubu reminded the officials that they are full-time public servants whose responsibilities begin long before general elections.
He urged them to implement INEC’s policies without waiting for directives from the headquarters,charging them to be proactive, knowledgeable, and fully committed as election happens in their various states.
