Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, in collaboration with State Ministry of Health and development partners have flagged-off the second phase of National Immunization Plus Days; to immunize children under five years against vaccine-preventable diseases.
The flag-off ceremony, which took place at Primary Health Care, Isulo, in Orumba South Local Government Area, attracted nursing mothers, parents and stakeholders in the council area.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem, said the five-day exercise will hold in the three hundred and twenty-six Primary Health Centres across all the wards in the state, schools, churches, strategic places and in all the places they can spot children under the age of five; so as to ensure that diseases like polio and others are kept far away from Anambra.

Pharmacist Uchem noted that the vaccination is free of cost because Governor Chukwuma Soludo has paid for the immunization, and commended him for providing the enabling environment and funding for all the immunization exercises happening in the state, urging parents to bring out their children to be immunized.
