The Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Town Planning, Anambra State Chapter, Chief Ben Nwofo has called on developers to incorporate town planning principles in building construction to stop flooding and building collapse in the State.
Chief Nwofo who made the call when members of the association paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Christopher Molokwu explained that they came to seek ABS coverage of their three days continuous professional development programmes for South-South and Southeast states.
Responding, the Managing Director, Mr. Molokwu assured them that the establishment will be part of their days programme by giving it adequate coverage and urged the institute to commence a public engagement programme on the need for proper town planning before building.
Earlier, the former Chairman of the Institute, Anambra State Chapter, Dr Laz Okwuchukwu, added that their forthcoming programme will bring their members and professionals in allied professions together to learn current issues in town planning.
