Shop owners and consumers at Eke Awka market in Awka South Local Government Area, Anambra State have expressed sadness over the rising cost of living in the country.
Speaking to the the ABS, Mrs Virginia Onyia who sells foodstuffs in the market disclosed that they were not making enough sales to take care of their needs as consumers hardly purchase because of the cost of goods.
Another trader, Mrs Chukwuemeka Patience, noted that the economy is very bad, as some people struggle to make ends meet, calling on the government to provide necessary farm equipment and implements to make farming easy as well as ensure adequate security of farmers across the country.
She further noted that some of the traders are part of the reasons for the high costs of food stuffs, as they attach so much gain to their goods.
