Plans are underway by Anambra State Government to establish Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission to boost electricity supply in the state
Correspondent Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka who disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Awka, explained that when the commission comes up, it will officially take over the role of National Electricity Regulatory Commission within the boundaries of Anambra state.
The Commissioner further said that the commission will pave the way for Anambra electricity market to be purely driven by the private sector, adding that with the commission people can invest in Anambra power sector.

In his reaction, the President General Building Materials International Market, Ogidi Chief Jude Nwankwo expressed confidence that the initiative will revive many industries in the state.
