Leadership Tussle: Tension Brews In Trans-Nkisi Onitsha Over State Assembly Resolution

Tension is brewing in Trans-Nkisi, Onitsha, as the Association of Trans-Nkisi Land Allotees has rejected a resolution passed by the Anambra State House of Assembly regarding a controversial leadership tussle in the area.

At a recent emergency meeting held at the Association’s hall complex, the Chairman, Chief Onyebuchi Ndulue, described how; on Wednesday, their premises were allegedly stormed by a group of thugs accompanied by police officers, naval personnel and vigilante members allegedly acting on the orders of a certain people to enforce a new House of Assembly resolution granting control of the layout to a a group identified as “Landlord Association”. 

Backing this claim, Chief Chukwumereije Ekebuisi; of Phase 3, emphasized that the entire layout Phases were developed and managed by the Association of Allottees, and not by any external group, saying that anyone claiming ownership under the so-called Landlord Association is misleading the public, calling on the House of Assembly to revisit the case. 

Also speaking, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu; of phase 2, expressed disappointment over the incident, and reaffirmed the long-standing unity and cooperation within the Allottees.
