An Industrialist Dr Godwin Okafor has described the move by the federal government to ban the importation of products being manufactured in Nigeria as a welcome development, saying that the measure will go a long way in stimulating the growth of indigenous firms.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Dr Okafor who said that private sector has continued to contribute to the growth of the nation’s economy, pointed out that when products manufactured in Nigeria are banned from being imported, it will give local industries a great boost and urged the federal government to find a way of assisting local industries with necessary raw materials and soft loans for efficient service delivery. He described made in Nigeria products as best in terms of quality when compared with those manufactured abroad, and called on Nigerians to always take pride in locally made products, urging the federal government to ensure adequate power supply to enable manufacturers to continue to produce goods that will be enough for the Nigerian populace.
