Venezuela Suspends Flights From Colombia Ahead Parliamentary Election

Venezuela has suspended flights from neighbouring Colombia after authorities detained more than thirty people allegedly plotting activities to destabilize the country before Sunday’s parliamentary election.

Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello who announced this said the antigovernment plans involved placing explosives at embassies, hospitals and police stations in Venezuela, saying that authorities had detained twenty-one Venezuelans and seventeen foreigners, some of whom hold Colombian, Mexican and Ukrainian citizenship.
