Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has commended the people of the state for the warm reception accorded President Bola Tinubu during his recent visit to the state, assuring that he will never take the support to his administration for granted.
Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the Governor, who made the commendation through his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim at St. Mary’s Anglican Church Nri in Anaocha Council Area, during a special Sunday service for the just-concluded third session of the 13th synod of Awka Diocese, said his government will continue to partner the church in repositioning the state, and appealed for the church’s prayers for his government.
Earlier, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, who appreciated the Governor for his administration’s efforts in providing adequate security and all-round development in the state, encouraged people of the state to always support and pray for those in power for good leadership and better society.
In their remarks, the Mayor of Anaocha Council Area, Mr Rom Obiekwe, immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Sir ThankGod Anagor, hosts of the synod and Vicar of St. Mary’s Church Nri, Venerable Ifeanyi Emegwa, and Parish Priest of St. Michael and All Angels Church Nri, Reverend Nnamdi Ezeabasili, thanked God for the success of the event, and advocated for effective parenting in today’s society, which they said has lost morals as a result of poor parenting.
