The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, has distinguished himself as an experienced and outstanding Legislator in different aspects of politics by representation. The journey which he started in 2015 as the member representing Ogbaru Two Constituency has reached a Legislative apogee, as he is today, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly.
There has never been any grain of disappointment on the part of Right Honourable Udeze, hence his people’s collective resolve to elect him three times to represent them in the State House of Assembly.
In giving back to his people of Ogbaru Two Constituency, he had performed creditably in all indices of effective representation. He attracted Solar Boreholes to Ossomala and Atani, renovated teacher’s quarters at the Community Primary School Umunankwo, attracted renovation of the Unity Comprehensive Secondary School Okpoko and also built and furnished the teacher’s quarters at the Community Primary School Ogwuaniocha.
He equally empowered many people in his constituency with Shuttle Buses to alleviate poverty and is presently building a gigantic Agricultural Processing Plant in Atani aimed at serving the agricultural needs of the entire people of Ogbaru Local Government Area and beyond when completed. It is noteworthy that he has equally made several interventions in education, health and general well-being of his people.
Only a few weeks ago, Right Honourable Udeze organized a Town Hall Meeting and Empowerment Programme, during which he took time to account for his stewardship and also empowered numerous members of his Constituency with various packages, including, Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines, Generating Sets, Farm Inputs as well as enrollment of over three hundred persons into the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme.
Right Honourable Udeze has also recorded commendable achievements as the Speaker of the State Assembly. Recall that the present eighth Anambra State House of Assembly under his watch has passed a total of forty-two Bills in less than two years, of which twenty-four have been signed into Law by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The Speaker, in keeping with the security efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has made several interventions including giving support to Ogbaru Strike Force, renovation of Police Stations as well as establishment of the Forward Operating Base and Operation Udo Ga Achi among other personal support he has been offering to fight insecurity in the area and Ndi Ogbaru have started enjoying relative peace and adequate security of lives and property.
Right Honourble Udeze appreciates the cordial working relationship existing between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government in the State, a situation he said has resulted in accelerated development of the State and total well-being of Ndi Anambra. The Speaker is particularly thankful to the Governor for the construction of the famous Atani- Ozubulu road with a standard bridge as well as other road maintenance interventions in Ogbaru and is optimistic that Governor Soludo will consider the construction of the Atani-Ossomala-Ogwuikpele-Ogwuaniocha road, which he appealed to him during *MR SPEAKER’S* Thanksgiving Service at Atani.
Ndi Ogbaru, let the satisfaction you express and confidence you repose in the Speaker, Right Honourable Udeze for his effective representation be renewed as he has promised to intensify efforts towards attracting more meaningful development to Ogbaru and improving the living standard of the entire people of Ogbaru through more empowerments.
