Speaking after they visited the portions of land where fences were pulled down and new ones and other structures coming up, Mr Emma Ezeobi said the land they bought from original owners as far back as 2007/2012, with relevant documents, are being encroached upon by unknown persons, adding that attempts to repossess their land have been met with arrest and police intimidation.
Contributing, another land owner at the place and retired military officer from Awka, Mr Anthony Igwebuike-Agbo, said he is heartbroken that land he bought with his hard-earned money is being toyed with, calling for urgent government intervention, as he said that those who sold land to them have denied being behind their present predicament.
On her part, one of the land owners, Mrs Oluchi Onyekachi, said the development brought to the area by the new Anambra Government House forced the land grabbers to start dispossessing people of their land, leading to destruction of farm lands and other economic trees.
