Performing the ceremony at the Church of the Arch Angels, Trans Nkisi New GRA 33 Onitsha, the President of the Boys Brigade in Anambra, Venerable Jason Onyeakagbusi, who noted that Sir Obiora was chosen for the position after series of scrutiny, and because of his contributions to the growth of the church and the Boy’s Brigade, urged parents to allow their children to join the Boys Brigade, which he described as the largest church voluntary organization; with presence in more than seventy countries of the world, and with the mandate of bringing young boys of every denomination closer to God.
Speaking after being installed, Sir Obiora, who was accompanied by his wife, friends and associates, described his installation as an honor and call for more work, and promised to continue living up to expectations, even as he charged parents to allow their children to be part of Boys Brigade and other organizations of the church for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Earlier in a sermon, the Vicar of the Church, Reverend Canon Emeka Nwabia, who traced the history of Boys Brigade, called for more support to the Anambra State Council in its efforts to restore sanity in the society, and regretted the gradual return to idolatry by the youths, calling for all hands to be on deck to check the ugly trend.
