Anambra Justice Commissioner Ifemeje Optimistic State Homeland Security Laws 2025 Will Eliminate Evolving Criminal Activities

Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s steps in confronting crime and insecurity in the state has been described as “bold and audacious”.

 

The Executive Director of a non-governmental organization, Mr Okechukwu Nwanguma, who stated this at a public function in Awka, said the Udo Ga-Achi security initiative is worth supporting without partisan and other mundane considerations, adding that the welfare and security of the people of the state must be put first and ahead of any other personal interests.

Earlier while speaking on the highlights of the Anambra Homeland Security Laws 2025”, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, described it as an all-innovative law which aims at fighting the evolving criminal activities in the society which the current criminal code did not envisage.

 

She restated that Agunechemba was not set up to take over functions of the police such as investigation, adding that many states are showing interest in copying the security model.
