Corps Members Unhappy With Failure Of FG To Implement N77,000 Monthly Allowance

Members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, have expressed their disapproval of the Federal Government’s persistent failure to implement the payment of the seventy-seven thousand naira allowance, which was approved effective July 2024.

The Director-General of the NYSC, Briggadier General Yushau Ahmed, later announced that corps members would start receiving the allowance in February 2025, but findings have revealed that the NYSC has yet to commence payment of the seventy-seven thousand naira allowance.

Many corps members who spoke on condition of anonymity because corps members are not allowed to talk to the media also said that they received only thirty-three thousand naira for their February allowance on Friday, and accused the Federal Government of insincerity regarding the payment of the new allowance.
