Iran’s economy minister, Abdolnaser Hemmati, has been impeached after the parliament voted to dismiss him from office amid rising inflation and a falling currency.
Hemmati was removed from office after one hundred and eighty-two out of two hundred and seventy-three lawmakers voted against him today, Parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, announced, just six months after President Masoud Pezeshkian’s government took office.
