Philanthropist Mrs Obikwelu Seeks Support For Journalists To Disseminate Information For National Development

Anambra-born philanthropist,  Mrs Ngozi Obikwelu, has called on the federal and state governments, as well as well-meaning individuals to support journalists in their drive to provide information for national development.

Making the call at Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area while receiving the newly elected leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council led by the Chairman, Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, Mrs Obikwelu, who is also NUJ Anambra State Matron, emphasized that journalists as the powerhouse of society contribute positively towards societal development through provision of vital information on happenings around the world.

Earlier in his remark, Dr Odogwu commended Mrs Obikwelu for her support to the union, assuring that the welfare of journalists would be a top priority of the new administration.
