Speaking to journalists, Mr Miracle Ojike and Miss Uju Obiadi noted that with better equipment, local shoemakers could improve on the quality and durability of their products, thereby making them more competitive in the market.
They noted that many talented artisans in the market rely on manual methods; which slow down production and limit their potential, and further urged the government and relevant agencies to invest in shoemaking industry, stressing that such support would boost employment opportunities and contribute to economic growth.
