The state Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Barrister Anthony Ifeanya, announced this in Awka during a meeting with some stakeholders in the mining sector; aimed at achieving responsible and sustainable mining practices in the state.
He announced the resolve of his ministry to collaborate with law enforcement agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders to identify and apprehend illegal miners in order to enthrone responsible mining, sustainable development and inclusive growth.
In his remark, the President General, Anambra State Sand Miners, Sir Chris Mbaegbu, appealed to the ministry to get more interested in the happenings in the mining sector in order to help address some challenges. In
