The United Nations on has reported that extreme hunger is intensifying in thirteen global hot spots, with Gaza, Sudan, South Sudan, Haitivand Mali at immediate risk of famine without humanitarian intervention.

The “Hunger Hotspots” report by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and World Food Programme blamed conflict, economic shocks, and climate-related hazards for conditions in the worst-hit areas.
