Community Secondary School, CSS, Aguluezechukwu has gone home with trophy and one million naira after humbling Government Technical College, GTC, Umuchu with two goals to one in the finals of C-Unit football tournament for Aguata Local Government Area held at Umuchu Mini Stadium.
Correspondent, Joseph Egbeocha reports that after early goal, GTC Umuchu had equalized the game fifteen minutes into the first half, but was unlucky in the outing; as ten minutes extra time added after a goalless second half gave CSS Aguluezechukwu the opportunity to triumph.


Captain for the CSS Aguluezechukwu team, Kosiso Nwanna, said the game was engaging and fun-filled, adding that team work earned them the victory.
Speaking after handing over cheques for six hundred thousand naira to GTC Umuchu and one million naira to CSS Aguluezechukwu, among other consolation prizes given to players from different schools that participated; totaling two million naira, twin brothers, Onyebuchi Ike and Onyedika Ike; of the C-Unit, said sponsoring the tournament was to harness talents and empower young people to be useful to themselves and the society.

Highlighting benefits in sports, others who spoke at the event, including the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Chibueze Oforbuike, represented by his Deputy, Kingsley Ezeagu, Councilor representing Umuchu Ward Two in the Aguata Legislative Congress, Chinedu Ezeanokwasa, and a member of Organizing Committee, Aguata Chapter, for the football tournament, Alex Okechukwu, thanked the C-Unit for sponsoring the tournament, and enjoined the young players to keep shining in the sporting event.
