Due to the prevailing economic hardship, food scarcity and hunger in the society, a New York-based philanthropist from Ifite Nteje in Oyi Council Area, Professor Philip Ozuah, has distributed 50kg bags of rice and beans to all the families in Ifite Nteje Quarters.

Correspondent, Amaka Onwuzulike reports that the event held at Ama Akamanator-Ifite Nteje attracted villagers in their numbers to receive their son who, through “Blessings To All Ozuah Family Foundation”, organized ‘Food Mission Ifite Nteje’ aimed at putting smiles on their faces, in addition to previous gestures, including payment of school fees, renovation of school building, provision of incentives for farming, among others.

Addressing mammoth crowd gathered to welcome him, including school children, Professor Ozuah said though in far away New York, United States of America, he has his people at heart, adding that the ‘food mission’ is aim at immortalizing his late father, Chief Atua Ozuah, and mother, Mrs Justina Ozuah; whom he said rendered services to people.

The Consolate Controller of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, who expressed joy that Professor Ozuah is giving back to his community, described the gesture as one of the pillars of the foreign policy of President Bola Tinubu administration.
